JEWISH HERITAGE WALKING TOUR

During the Middle Ages Jewish life flourished throughout Spain. In 1492 Jews were forced to choose between converting to Catholicism or being expelled. Many Jews today find themselves all over the world as a result of the Spanish Expulsion, and the term Sephardic Jew refers to the Spanish Jewish roots.

Today, once again, Jewish life is flourishing in Spain and many Spaniards are proudly seeking their Jewish roots.

Three cities in Catalonia in particular have made a strong effort to recover their Jewish legacy. These are Girona, Besalu, and Barcelona, which currently is the only city in the region with a rich Jewish cultural life.

Join us for a Jewish heritage walking tour and you will not be disappointed. One of our guides is a University Lecturer who is an expert on Judaism and another is a Jewish guide who will certainly make your Barcelona experience unforgettable. All of our guides are professional, friendly, and committed to making your holiday enjoyable and memorable.

The Barcelona Jewish tour is a walking tour with an expert guide for 2.5-3 hours. The tour includes a visit to the Barcelona Jewish Quarter, including the center of interpretation of Jewish studies, MHB museum, and the old synagogue of Barcelona. If you wish you can also include an optional visit to Montjuic (Jewish Mountain) for panoramic views over Barcelona. This requires a taxi ride and costs approximately 10 Euros extra.
