At the top of Montserrat you will also be able to visit the beautiful Basilica where the ‘Black  Madonna’ is presented, looking down over the altar.  The Black Madonna is a wooden sculpture believed to have been carved in Jerusalem, and one of the most famous Black Madonna statues in the world.  Visiting the Black Madonna is a worthwhile experience whether you are religious or not. You will likely have to wait in line to see the Madonna itself but the atmosphere leading to the staircase where the Madonna is displayed is extraordinary.

In the afternoon, you can choose to return to Barcelona and we can take you anywhere you wish to go, including to La Sagrada Familia with skip-the-line guided tickets. If you prefer to continue touring for a full-day, we can arrange a great visit to a local winery where you will learn how we make wine in Catalunya and of course sample the result…
